We are still at Black Rock Park on Lake Buchanan operated by LCRA.
We survived Spring Break and Easter which was awful the huge amount of people and only the 2 of us it was really too much work. I ended up working over 50 hours a week and I’m contracted to do 24 hours maximum and Cassandra got paid for 40 hours and worked over 50 hours. But we did it and would do it again because that’s the way we are, if work needs to be done then we do it and please the guests.

The worse issues where the Restrooms when on Sunday I was forced to shut them down, they were used and abused. The worse was the Ladies, with paper strewn over the floor in the Showers used Tampons, mud, hair clips, wet panties, bras, they were a mess and this happened all at once, I checked them at 11am and at 1pm they were disgusting.

In order for me to work I placed the Mule across the entrance and tried to barricade the entrance and folks were climbing over the Mule and pushing aside brooms and water and still tried to get in, small children and adults a like, it made no difference.

I get very scared when inside the Ladies cleaning as I have no way to secure the door and stop people coming in and when I’m in the far stall I cannot see or hear people coming in. Imagine my horror when I hear the toilet being used and small girls voices coming from the toilet stalls. I ran out of those toilets as fast as I could. I mention this to my direct supervisors over and over again and oh yes they all sympathize and agree it’s not a good situation to be in, but nothing is ever done to stop the same thing happening again. If any body ever complains I’m dead meat, who is going to believe me over a girls fantasy or a mothers misconception. All it would take is a bolt on the inside or even a sign and chain would help, both low cost to implement, I shouldn’t be put into this position.

Every weekend brings new issues and pets and especially dogs inside the cabins. We do not get told when people bring in dogs and I’m sure people sneak there pets in to the park and it isn’t until they are seen that I approach guests and explain the rules and these are given to them in writing when they check in.
No pets inside Restrooms and Cabins and on a leash at all times, in the evening they must be outside and kenneled on the porch.
Oh yes, they say and then ignore the rules or get all huffy at the rules and think that I’m a monster and a nasty guy.

I’m a dog lover and want to see pets enjoying the countryside but not every body likes dogs and some people have allergies to dander and pet hair and to allow dogs inside the cabins while guests go off for a meal and the dogs trash the blinds and poop on the floor which I have to clean up after you leave.

Last weekend one couple with 3 children brought in 6 dogs, I’m serious 6 dogs, after they left after I had explained the Park Pet Rules, there was pet hair on every bed bunk and two piles of poop for me to clean up. It’s not the dogs fault it’s the owners.

At the moment 6 more cabins are being built and next year hopefully more Restrooms.
