I recently received a Christmas Card and newsy letter from Janet in Perth Western Australia and in it she was able to tell the story of her adventures during the year and I thought to my self what a wonderful idea, so here goes, this is a long read.

I recently received a Christmas Card and newsy letter from Janet in Perth Western Australia and in it she was able to tell the story of her adventures during the year and I thought to my self what a wonderful idea, so here goes, this is a long read.
Our life in 2011 started off with us leaving Pecan Park in San Marcos, after 2 and a half years of being there it was time to move on. In retrospect we should have left sooner and we would have done if it hadn’t been for Jim Rowley the owner of the park, his son David is the Manager and sadly for unknown reasons we fell out of being friends towards the end, with him refusing to even speak to me and only via messages via Jim, very sad affair. I guess I’ll never get to know the reason.
We then moved to a LCRA undeveloped park called Turkey Bend, this is halfway between Marble Falls and Lago Vista on Highway 1431, a killer of a road.
We were all very happy and content here although it did take me about 3 months to recover from being at Pecan Park, I was truly burnt out mentally and physically. Turkey Bend is a nice place and does attract people who want to party and get wild at times not all the people do this, but it does attract that have a desire. Also within the park is a private park called Sunshine Camp for under privileged children, a wonderful concept but sadly the counselors and helpers do not value what they have and race around the park and generally do not have any respect for simple basic rules, which is a great pity.
In May we traded our F250 in on a 2009 F350 and wow what a difference it’s like driving a Cadillac, I love it but the fuel consumption is another story at best on a long trip 15mpg when pulling the 5th wheel, 10mpg.
During the time here Jeannie came to visit from Dumfries, VA and it was great to spend some quality time together.
After Jeannie left we decided to sell our Travel Trailer and in doing so we got a reasonable offer on our Cameo which resulted in us trading them both in on a new 2011 35ft Cameo, a step upwards once again.
Soon after we bought the Cameo we were asked to move to another LCRA park this one is a developed park called Black Rock Park. This park has 12 cabins, 15 RV sites and 22 Tent Sites and is situated on Lake Buchanan Dam, a beautiful area and very much nicer when the lake returns to it’s normal level, presently it is 60% down and shows no sign of recovery, hopefully we will receive more rain during the winter so that it fills up, fingers crossed.
At Black Rock, Cassandra works in the entrance booth and I look after the cabins, RV and Tent sites plus the three bathroom buildings. Another couple joined us as support in October and we were hoping for some relief and working together but sadly that has not worked out as they are both intimidated by the Point of Sale registrar and the man is content to work outside, scratching away at the gravel and cutting tree limbs, so he does that and we look after the customers and cabins etc, etc.
We have also joined a Square Dance Club in Marble Falls called Country Cuzzins which has a top caller called Gary Bible, he’s wonderful.
Also we now attend a Gym in Kingsland about 7 miles away, Cassandra does Pilates, and other class exercises and I started off doing them but strained my knee so I now do the many machines avoiding the ones that may give my knee any issues. I do intend to start up with the classes in the year of 2012. I’ve lost 12 lbs and feel great, I expand my weights on a weekly basis so increasing my strength and muscles.
I’ve got back into attending a Masonic Lodge again in Kingsland and they are a great bunch guys, very dedicated and it’s good to be back and I’ve found how much I’ve forgotten, so I’m very rusty.
My e-Books are still selling on the internet and I started and and have published yet another book and this one is about Divorce Ceremonies, I guess I’ve now covered the whole period of relationships, Wedding Ceremonies, Baby Namings, Divorce and Funeral Ceremonies and Cassandra has the Wedding Planning Book, which I also sell.
The Web Site Design business is still going strong and we’ve changed the name to A Purple Kangaroo Web Design, the Alegria name just became to hard for people to understand.
Well that’s about it for the year, we will be here until something else comes up, Sammy is slowing down and is showing his age as he is now 12 years young, he still tries to keep up with the younger dogs but only for a shorter period, he still goes down to the lakeside every day and enjoys not having to be on a leash.
See you on the road and I’ll be in Orlando Florida in February catching up with my son Mark and his Fiancee Julia, I’m excited about that trip.
