We bit the bullet and made our flight reservations! We leave Panama the morning of Aug. 21. We’re flying 1st class because there was only a $30 difference each between 1st class and economy so we decided to treat ourselves.

We’re allowed 20 extra pounds per suitcase so we’re actually almost paying for the difference by carrying more items with us instead of shipping them.

Shipping is just under $2 per kilo or roughly $1 per pound so we save $40 on shipping. Looking at it that way, flying 1st class is only costing a total of $20.

The car sold today so we’re just tying up loose ends and saying goodbye to friends before we set sail on our new adventure.
