In the morning, I take Sammy walking in some fields that are near the RV Park in Victoria so he has a chance to be off lead and run and roll to his heart’s content. There is a lot of dew and the “grass” is long so my shoes (and pants legs) are always wet after the walk. I leave my shoes and socks outside, generally with the socks tucked inside waiting for the next morning’s walk.

In the morning, I take Sammy walking in some fields that are near the RV Park in Victoria Texas so he has a chance to be off lead and run and roll to his heart’s content. There is a lot of dew and the “grass” is long so my shoes (and pants legs) are always wet after the walk. I leave my shoes and socks outside, generally with the socks tucked inside waiting for the next morning’s walk. Because of the dew, I’m wearing waterproof hiking boots with wool socks.

A few days ago, my socks were a little damp so I laid them across the tops of my shoes instead of tucking them inside. The following morning I put on my right sock and then my right shoe. Next I donned my left sock and proceeded to put my left foot in my left shoe.

Wait a minute! What’s that? It felt as if I had left a sock inside my shoe but I knew I hadn’t because the sock was on my foot. Imagine my surprise when I turned the shoe over to dump out whatever was there and two, yes TWO frogs tumbled out.

At first I thought one was injured as it did not immediately hop away. It was gone by the time we got back from our walk so hopefully it recovered from the shock of being nearly squished.
